We’re looking for thoughtful and community-minded individuals to join us as Flexible Funeral Operatives based at Boss Hall Funeral Services in Ipswich. This is a unique opportunity to support families and loved ones during some of life’s most important moments—all while working on a flexible, as-and-when-needed basis.

What you’ll be doing

As a Flexible Funeral Operative, you will play a key part in delivering dignified, respectful funeral services. You will primarily carry out bearer duties—supporting the safe and professional movement of the deceased, both behind the scenes and during services. Working as part of a close-knit team, you’ll help ensure that every funeral runs smoothly and respectfully.

This flexible role is designed to focus on a small number of essential duties, making it easy to pick up and ideal for those looking for occasional, meaningful work that fits around other commitments.

The person we are looking for 

We’re looking for people who are:

• Respectful, compassionate, and professional in their manner
• Physically able to undertake lifting and walking duties
• Comfortable wearing formal funeral attire
• Reliable and responsive, with a flexible approach to work
• Confident working as part of a small team
   No previous experience is necessary—full training and support will be provided.
